Time for another BlogPaws' Be the Change for Pets project! R U Ready?
We're heading into May and we know it's time for spring cleaning. Let's do it up right and clean out our closets for a good cause!
Join us, pet bloggers and pet lovers from the world over, on May 18 -25th- as we host the world's FIRST virtual rummage sale (garage sale to some of you) to help pets. You can participate from your own home...and you'll benefit your favorite local shelter or rescue group. Don't have a favorite shelter? Find one on Petfinder.com.
How to Participate
Post on our Facebook wall to let us know you've accepted the challenge, then share it with all your friends, readers, relatives, pets, and anyone else who will listen. (mailman? UPS delivery person? person in line at the grocery store?)
Clean out your closets (who doesn't need to do this? seriously... we all do)... Encourage everyone you know to clean out their closets, too. Or, help you clean out yours. Moms, are you listening?
Pick a sale site such as eBay or Craig's List or Etsy to put your items up for sale.
Never sold anything online before? Don't worry! It's easy - and we'll have detailed how-to instructions coming soon!
Now, pick a pet charity as your recipient. Check Petfinder if you don't have a favorite or need to learn more about shelters in your area.
On May 18th, post your items for sale on your designated site (be sure to check back here for posting guidelines) and then add your sale items to the Linky List which will be open on this blog by then... Next, promote, promote, promote...to get those items sold! Sales should run until May 25th.
Donate the proceeds of your sales to your pet charity of choice. Then, report your total donation to US on Facebook or in a comment here, by June 5th so we can announce our collective impact!
Any questions? Hop over to our Be the Change for Pets Facebook page and ask away in the Discussion Tab.
Ready...set...go! (well, get ready to go...)

Very nice initiative and different approach.
